The CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is a national level entrance exam for the teaching job. The Government of India introduced the CTET exam in 2011 to improve the quality of education in schools and meet the goals of free education for children under the Education Act effectively. Under the NCTE (National Council of Teachers Education) notification sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE, the CTET exam is now mandatory to get the government jobs in the schools for teaching students from class 1st to class 8th. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the exam.

CBSE has made an announcement regarding the next CTET exam. As per the information flashing on the official website, “The next examination of CTET will be conducted on 07-07-2019.” The Board has announced the CTET Result 2018 on 4th January. The exam was conducted on 09th December 2018 (Sunday).

Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
“Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” “
(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”.

Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
OR
Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.

For Gen/ OBC (Both Paper I & II): Rs. 1200/-
For SC/ST/Differently Abled Person (Only Paper I or II): Rs. 350/
For SC/ST/Differently Abled Person (Both Paper I & II): Rs. 600/-

GST as applicable will be charged extra by the Bank

Mode of Payment:

Remittance through E-Challan by depositing the prescribed fee in CTET Exam Fee Account with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank

– Payment by Syndicate Bank e-Challan

– Payment by Canara Bank e-Challan

By Online-mode (Payment by Debit Card / Credit Card).

How to Apply

Apply mode Online

The CTET application process will be online. The application forms will be available at the official CTET website – ctet.nic.in. Candidates are advised to fill the application form within the given time period.

Pre-requisites Documents/Files

Scanned images of your recent photograph and signature in JPG format only.
A copy of class 10th certificate.
Internet banking, debit/credit card details for fee payment.

Step by Step CTET 2019 Application Process

Visit the official website of CTET – https://ctet.nic.in/
Click on the ‘ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR CTET 2019’ button at the bottom of the home-page.
You will be re-directed to the registration page.
Click on ‘PROCEED TO APPLY ONLINE’ button.
Read the instructions and click on ‘PROCEED TO APPLY ONLINE’ button.
Complete the authentication form and ‘Submit’ the details. Here you need to enter the details of your identification document.
Now enter the details for registration. Once the registration is complete, you will receive a registration ID and password.
Use the ID and password to log in through the registration page.
Complete the application form, upload the required documents, and make fee payment.
Once the fee payment is successful, take a print out of the ‘Confirmation Page’. Candidates are not required to send the confirmation to the CTET unit.
