CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram invited applications for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Senior Research Fellow (JRF) and Project Assistant Post. Eligible candidates can apply for the post in the prescribed format and attend walk-in-interview on 07, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 17 December 2018.
Walk in for 12 SRF/ JRF/ Project Assistants Posts in NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on Temporary Basis. National Institute of Interdisciplinary Science & Technology has released notification for the hiring to the posts of Senior Research Fellow, Junior Research Fellow, Project Assistant – II and Project Assistant – I on 29th November 2018,Kerala.
The National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, is a constituent Laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR). Initially established in 1975 as a CSIR Complex ,it was named as the Regional Research Laboratory in 1978 and later renamed as NIIST in 2007. Its mandate is to conduct research and development activities of the highest quality in areas related to effective utilization of resources of the region and of fundamental importance to the country.
Currently NIIST is engaged in R & D programmes in areas related to Agro-processing, Chemical Sciences, Materials Science and Technology, Microbial processes & technology, Environmental Technology. The institute has established state-of-the- art facilities for conducting advanced research in the areas of interest. Pilot plant facilities for research training and process/product development in the areas of spices and oilseeds have been established. The institute has also been playing a significant role in Human Resource Development by training post graduate/graduate students, with over 252 Ph.D degrees awarded till date, based on research conducted in the institute.For brief description of the activities.

Educational Qualification
Sr. Research Fellow (Project) - M.Sc. Chemistry with minimum 55% marks with NET/GATE qualification plus two years research experience OR M. Pharm., Pharmaceutical Chemistry with minimum 55% marks plus two years research experience.
Jr. Research Fellow (Project) - M.Sc. Life Science with minimum 55% marks with NET/ GATE/ qualification OR M.Pharm. Pharmaceutical Chemistry/BAMS/BSMS with minimum 55% marks.
Project Assistant-II - B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 55% marks.
Project Assistant-I - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Polymer Technology with minimum55% marks.
Jr. Research Fellow (Project) - M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Biochemistry with minimum 55% marks with NET/GATE qualification
Jr. Research Fellow (Project) - M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Biochemistry with minimum 55% marks with NET/GATE qualification
Jr. Research Fellow (Project) - M.Sc. in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology / Zoology with minimum 55% marks with NET/GATE qualification. Desirable: Hands on experience on cell culture/ in vitro assays / animal experiment.
Project Assistant-II - M.Sc. Biotechnology with minimum 55% marks. Preferable: Cell culture experience
Project Assistant-II - M.Sc. in Biopolymer Science with minimum 55% marks. Desirable: Research experience in the field of Nanocellulose.
Project Assistant-II - M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry with minimum 55% marks. UGC-CSIR NET is preferable.
Jr. Research Fellow (Project) - B.Tech in Chemical/ Mechanical/Environmental Engineering with minimum 55% marks with NET/GATE Qualification.
Project Assistant-II - M.Sc. in Microbiology/ Biotechnology with minimum 55% marks.
Age Limit
Minimum 28 years & maximum 35 years of age can attend for Project Assistant, SRF & JRF posts.
Salary Details
Research Fellow (Project): Rs.28000/- Per Month
Research Fellow (Project): Rs.25000/- Per Month
Project Assistant-II: Rs.25000/- Per Month
Project Assistant-I: Rs.16000/- Per Month
