NIV Recruitment 2018 13 Project Technician Posts
The National Institute of Virology is one of the major Institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It was established at Pune, Maharashtra State in 1952 as Virus Research Centre (VRC) under the auspices of the ICMR and the Rockefeller Foundation (RF), USA. It was an outcome of the global programme of the RF for investigating the Arthropod Borne viruses. Since the studies on arboviruses and their arthropod vectors involve most of the basic principles and techniques of general virology, entomology and zoology, these viruses were also considered to be an ideal group, to begin with, for intensive training and research in virology in our country. The RF withdrew its support in 1967 and since then the Institute is entirely funded by the ICMR.
The research activities of the center were made more meaningful and self reliant by organizing new areas of research, such as Cell repository, Electron microscopy, Rickettsioses, Hepatitis, Influenza and related viruses, Clinical virology, Biochemistry, Virus registry, and Biostatistics. The research activities of the Institute are coordinated by a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) consisting of eminent scientists.
National Institute of Virology (NIV) – ICMR is going to conduct the walk-in interview to the notification for the recruitment of the applicants to the posts of Project scientist, Project Technical Assistant and Project Technicians in NIV, Maharashtra on contract basis. Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification
Project Scientist-B – MBBS Degree with one year Research/Teaching experience OR MD in Microbiology/Pathology/PSM.
Project Scientist-B (NonMedical) – Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with two years experience in related field. OR Second Class Master’s Degree with Ph.D in relevant subject. OR BDS/B.V.Sc. degree with one year experience.
Project Research Associate-I – Ph.D. in Life Sciences.
Project Research Associate-I – Graduate (three years degree) in Life Science subjects with three years work experience or Master’s degree in the above subjects.
Project Technician III - 12th pass in Science subjects and Two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or related subject or One year DMLT plus one year experience or Two years field/laboratory experience
Project Technician I- Matriculation; One year Certificate in the required discipline OR One year Lab/Field/Clinical experience.
Age Limit
Applicants maximum age limit is 40 years.
An applicant from reserved and special categories, the upper age limit is relaxed as per Govt. guidelines.
Salary Details
Selected candidates will get pay
For Project Scientist-B (Medical) – Rs.61,000 + HRA Per month
For Project Scientist-B (Non-Medical) – Rs.48,000 + HRA Per month
For Project Research Associate-I – Rs.36,000 + HRA Per month
For Project Technician-III – Rs.31,000 Per month
For Project Technician-III – Rs.18,000 Per month
For Project Technician-I – Rs.16,000 Per month
