Eligibility Criteria 
Educational Qualification

     To apply against the Air Force Common Admission Test 2019, candidates have to satisfy qualification criteria, age criteria and others that are uttered below for the easiness of the appliers:

Flying Branch

Job entrants filling their AFCAT 1 Application Form against these vacant posts must have a graduate in any discipline with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or B.E/B. Tech with minimum 60% marks. OR
Must have secured 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).

Ground Duty (Technical)

Individuals must have a graduation level degree in any discipline with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level with minimum 60% marks. OR
Must have completed 4 years graduation or integration Post graduation in Engineering/Technology OR
Must obtain 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).

Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

Aspirants must have graduation level degree any discipline with minimum 60% marks and obtain 60% marks in Section A & B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India).

NCC Special Entry

Flying: – NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate acquired on or after 01 Jan 17 is mandatory. Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 60% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2. Graduates with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

OR Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Age Limit

For AFCAT 1 Application Form Notification, age criteria are stated below:

For Flying Branch, candidates should be resided in between 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2020. Candidate should not be born earlier than 2nd January 1996 and not later than 1st January 2000.
For Ground Duty (Technical), appliers should be between 20 to 26 years as on 1st January 2020. Candidate should not be born earlier than 2nd January 1994 and not later than 1st January 2000.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical, one should be between 20 to 26 years as on 1st January 2020. The candidate should not be born earlier than 2nd January 1994 and not later than 1st January 2000.

Type of commission

AFCAT 2018 Notification Released:-

(a) Permanent Commission (PC) for Men:- Candidates joining as PC officers would continue to serve till the age of superannuation in their respective branches as per their rank.

(b) Short Service Commission (SSC) for Men & Women:-

(i) The engagement period for Flying Branch (Men and Women) SSC Officers is fourteen years from the date of Commissioning (Non extendable).

(ii) The initial tenure for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) SSC Officers would be for a period of ten years. An extension of four years may be granted subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit.

Physical Eligibility Standards

      This is also another important part to satisfy before applying against Air Force Common Admission Test Notification 2019. So must check physical eligibility standards from below:

Flying: 

Minimum 162.5 cms.
Leg Length- Min: 99 cms, Max: 120 cms
Thigh Length- Max: 64 cms
Sitting Height – Min: 81.5 cms, Max: 96 cms

Female 152 cm

Fee Structure

      Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee. However, candidates registering for Meteorology entry and NCC Special entry are not required to pay any amount.

Selection Procedure

      AFCAT Online Exam 2019 will be organize by the Indian Air Force to select the deserving and dedicated candidates and those candidates who get shortlisted in this exam will further participate in verbal and non-verbal screening test on reasoning & PPDT.

Date and Duration of Training

       Training is scheduled to commence in the first week of Jan 2020 for all courses. The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.

Physical Conditioning

      Prospective candidates are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition to adapt to physical training at AFA which encompasses running, swimming, rope climbing and other forms of physical training/conditioning in which they would undergo mandatory tests during training. Candidates are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition by following the under mentioned routine

(i) Running: up to 4 Km. in 15 minutes.
(ii) Skipping.
(iii) Push ups & Sit-ups: Minimum 20 each.
(iv) Chin ups: 08.
(v) Rope Climbing: 3 to 4 metres.
(vi) Swimming (25 m).
