     The Indian Coast Guard is a multi-mission organization, conducting round-the-year real-life operations at sea.The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on 18 August 1978 by the Coast Guard Act, 1978 of the Parliament of India as an independent Armed force of India. It operates under the Ministry of Defence. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) protects India’s maritime interests and enforces maritime law, with jurisdiction over the territorial waters of India, including its contiguous zone and exclusive economic zone. The Indian Coast Guard’s motto is “वयम रक्षामः” (Vayam Rakshamah), which translates from Sanskrit as “We Protect”. Mr. Rajendra Singh is director general of Indian Coast Guard. 1 February is celebrated as anniversary of Indian Coast Guard. It had 15,714 active personnel, 175 vessels and 44 aircraft. The regions are further divided into twelve Coast Guard ‘Districts’, one each for the nine coastal states on the mainland, two in the Andaman & Nicobar Region, and one at Kavaratti in the Lakshadweep and Minicoy Islands. Each Coast Guard District comprises of one or more Coast Guard Stations. In addition, there are Coast Guard Air Stations (CGAS) and Air Enclaves (CGAE) for air operations from various locations along the coastline.

Educational Qualification

General Duty & General Duty(SSA): Applicants who have completed Degree or equivalent from a recognized Institute for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2018.
Commercial Pilot Entry (CPL) (SSA): Applicants holding current /valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued/ validated by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Minimum educational qualification – XIIth pass (Physics and Mathematics)with 60% marks in aggregate
Law: Applicants who have completed Degree with law or equivalent from a recognized Institute for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2018.

Age Limit (as on 01-04-2019)

For General Duty: Candidates should born b/w 01-07-1994 to 30-06-1998
For GD (SSA): Candidates should born b/w 01-07-1994 to 30-06-1998
For CPL (SSA): Candidates should born b/w 01-07-1994 to 30-06-2000
For Law: Candidates should born b/w 01-07-1989 to 30-06-1998 (Both dates inclusive)
Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Pay Scale

Rs.56,100-2,05,400/- as per procedure of govt. rules they allot.
